Super Eagles and Bayer Leverkusen striker, Victor Boniface, has undergone a successful surgery for his groin injury. The player will now commence rehabilitation after being ruled out of Nigeria's 2023 AFCON squad due to the injury sustained during a training camp in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
"Victor Boniface was successfully operated on today in Berlin. The striker will return to Leverkusen later this week to start his rehabilitation process," shared the club on X.
Earlier, Leverkusen had announced that the player would be sidelined until April. Consequently, OGC Nice's Terem Moffi has been named as Boniface's replacement in Nigeria's squad for AFCON 2023.
