Uriel has since explained that many natural bodies are like hers and she will not be shut down because she has cellulite.

 

In another post, The reality star was seen thanking actress Toyin Abraham For her love and care.

Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich steps back following Russia's invasion of Ukraine

Due to the war between Russia and Ukraine, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich announced on the 26th of February 2022, that he is handing over the reins of the club to the "trustees of Chelsea’s charitable Foundation".

The Foundation Trustees would include Bruce Buck, John Devine, Emma Hayes, Piara Power, Paul Ramos, and Sir Hugh Robertson

 

The Russian billionaire will remain Chelsea's owner having invested over £1billion into the Stamford Bridge club since buying it in 2003.  He will not be asking the club to repay the loans it owes him, meaning the long-term future of the club remains secure.

 

His statement which was via Chelsea's official website read: "During my nearly 20-year ownership of Chelsea FC, I have always viewed my role as a custodian of the Club, whose job it is ensuring that we are as successful as we can be today, as well as build for the future, while also playing a positive role in our communities.

 

"I have always taken decisions with the Club’s best interest at heart. I remain committed to these values.

"That is why I am today giving trustees of Chelsea’s charitable Foundation the stewardship and care of Chelsea FC.

"I believe that currently, they are in the best position to look after the interests of the Club, players, staff, and fans."

Abramovich's decision to step back comes after several MPs made it clear they thought the Chelsea owner shouldn't be in charge of the European champions due to his alleged links to Vladimir Putin.

 

Labour MP Chris Bryant said on Friday that Abramovich's assets should be seized by the UK over allegations from a leaked 2019 Home Office document.

 

Bryant told the Commons: “I’ve got hold of a leaked document from 2019, from the Home Office, which says in relation to Mr. Abramovich: ‘As part of HMG’s [Her Majesty’s government] Russia strategy aimed at targeting illicit finance and malign activity, Abramovich remains of interest to HMG due to his links to the Russian state and his public association with corrupt activity and practices."

23-Year-Old Lady Remanded For Stealing Newborn From Kwara Hospital

 

23-year-old lady, Nike Owolabi, has been remanded in a Federal Correctional Service Centre for allegedly abducting a newborn baby at Ajisafe Hospital, Omu Aran in Irepodun local government area of Kwara State.

A Magistrate Court sitting in Ilorin ordered it after prosecution alleged that Owolabi, a native of Ora in Ifedayo local government area in Osun State, perpetrated the act when she visited the hospital with the pretence to felicitate with a patient, one Blessing Alabi, who delivered a baby through caesarean operation.

It was alleged that the accused person picked up the newborn baby, backed her and started leaving the hospital premises before she was caught by one Rachael Alabi, who was the mother-in-law to the baby’s mother (Blessing Alabi).

The police first information report further revealed that the hospital close-circuit cameras captured how the defendant was roaming about the facility greeting patients who are not her relation with the view to study terrain and perpetrate the evil act.

The prosecutor, Inspector Adewumi Johnson, prayed the court not to grant the accused person bail since the accused person was charged with child kidnapping which was not ordinarily bailable.

 

He urged the court to grant the prayers contained in the motion exparte and remand her in a correctional center.

Chief Magistrate Saliu Muhammed ordered that the accused person be remanded in a Federal Correctional Centre.

The case was adjourned till March 8, 2022 for further hearing.

Pregnant housewife stages own kidnap, collects over N2m ransom from lover

 

A  pregnant housewife, Jamila Ardo is currently at the Yola Correctional Centre for allegedly staging her kidnap and collecting N2.076 million as ransom from her lover.

 The suspect was arraigned before chief magistrate court I in Yola on Thursday, February 24, for the offense  of criminal conspiracy and kidnapping contrary to sections 60 and 248 of penal code law, Jamila however, pleaded not guilty.

 

 The 25-year-old suspect who lives in Wauru Jabbe area in the state capital was said to have connived with one Abdulaziz and stage-managed her kidnapping to collect the sum of N2.076 million as ransom from her lover, Adamu Ahmed, who is based in Abuja.

 According to the police, the accused and Mallam Adamu were said to have started their amorous relationship via social media and were planning on how to get married, unknown to Adamu that Jamila is a married woman.

She was said to have connived with Abdulaziz and put a call to Mallam Adamu where they informed him that she had been kidnapped. During negotiation, Adamu was said to have heard Jamila crying and pleading with him on phone to pay the ransom so that she will regain her freedom.

 Being a man who is deeply in love with Jamila, Adamu immediately deposited into a bank account number bearing Amina Mohammed.

After sending the money, Adamu was informed by his lover that the kidnappers had released her. He became suspicious and then he filed a complaint through a letter to the SIB dated November 16, 2021.

 The letter was filed through his counsel and subsequently endorsed by Adamawa State Commissioner of Police. In his letter, Adamu narrated how Jamila conspired with Abdulaziz, kidnapped herself, and collected the money from him as ransom.

Police investigation led to the arrest of Amina Mohammed who confessed that it was her friend known as Jamila who requested her account number so that somebody will send in money for her.

After her plea, the prosecutor, Inspector Abubakar Nurudeen, hoped magistrate Abdullahi Mohammed Digil would adjourn the matter to enable the prosecution to forward the case file to DPP for legal advice.

 Counsel to the defendant, pleaded with the court to allow his client to have access to a medical facility considering her condition and also asked the court to order the prosecution to avail them with all necessary documents to enable them to prepare for their defense.

The case has been adjourned to March 10, 2022, while the suspect was ordered to be remanded in the Correctional Centre in Yola.

PSG boss, Pochettino heaps praise on Super Eagles star after 3-1 defeat

Paris Saint-Germain manager, Mauricio Pochettino, has heaped praise on Moses Simon following his side 3-1 defeat to Nantes.

According to Pochettino, the Nigerian winger was the difference in the Ligue 1 clash despite not being on the scoresheet.

NDLEA arrest Singers Zinoleesky and Mohbad during raid

 

Marlian music stars, Zinoleesky and Mohbad were arrested last night during a raid conducted by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). 

 Videos shared online showed the NDLEA operatives invaded the house of the singers by allegedly jumping over its fence, placing handcuffs on the singers.

 

The reason for the arrest remains unclear, but this is coming after skit maker, De-General and two others were arrested for having marijuana.

President of The Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has claimed that without his intervention, Nigerians would have still been trekking from Lagos to Ibadan.

We should look at advancement in terms of Infrastructure. No country can advance without infrastructure.

“The people from south-west can tell better because between Lagos and Ibadan by now, if we hadn’t done what we did, people would have been trekking because the road was not there, the rail was not there and there was so much insecurity.

“But we thank the international community. We thank China and Chinese investors, who came along to support the Lagos-Ibadan transport projects.”

Ajax reach settlement with Abdelhak Nouri's family and retire No34 shirt

Eredivisie Champions, Ajax, and the family of former player, Abdhak Nouri, have reached a £6.4m financial settlement after the club accepted responsibility for his severe and permanent brain damage 

The brain damage occurred when Nouri collapsed during a pre-season friendly in 2017 against Werder Bremen in Austria. 

Ajax had previously admitted that Nouri did not get adequate medical attention after he collapsed and accepted responsibility and on Monday, February 21, the club announced that Nouri's family will get the sum of £6.54million in damages and loss of potential future earnings.

The settlement brought to an end a case Nouri's family began at the Dutch football association's arbitration commission. Ajax has paid medical and other care costs for Nouri since 2017.

 Nouri was 20-years-old when the incident happened, and before that, he had made his debut for Ajax in September 2016 and played 15 games for the first team.

The club gave his name to a trophy that is awarded each year to the most talented player at the Ajax academy and the first team retired the No. 34 jersey Nouri wore.

'It is good that an agreement has been reached so that we can conclude this,' Ajax director Edwin van der Sar said.

'We all realize that it does not end the suffering of Abdelhak and his loved ones. It remains a very sad situation, that is how we feel here at Ajax, too.' He added

NAFDAC impounds 120 tons of imported chemical-laden ‘Ponmo’ and arrests 7 suspects

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control says it has intercepted 120 tons of imported chemical-laden animal hides and skins popularly known as ‘Ponmo’.

 

NAFDAC released a statement on the 20th of February 2022 saying the large quantities of dangerous ‘Ponmo’ were intercepted at six different locations in Lagos. 

 

Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, the director-general of NAFDAC said that seven suspects allegedly involved in the act are currently under investigation. She also assured that the samples of the products have been sent to the laboratory for testing to ascertain the products’ quality and unwholesomeness. 

 

Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye has also advised Nigerians not to patronize importers of hides and skins for consumable animal skins. She said that the hides are pre-treated with industrial chemicals which are not food-grade and are toxic and injurious to human health. 

 

She added that health hazards inherent in the consumption of such animal hides include the risk of liver, kidney, and heart damage, increased risk of aplastic anemia, central nervous system toxicity, and cancer, amongst several others.

“The general public is hereby encouraged to be very vigilant and exercise discretion when purchasing animal hides ‘ponmo and indeed other food items.

“NAFDAC is fully alive to her responsibilities of assuring the safety, wholesomeness, and quality of processed foods offered for sale to the public’’ she said

“This was in response to several complaints received from the public about alleged sale and distribution of imported hides and skins meant for use in leather industries and which had already been processed with industrial chemicals.

These hides and skins are then sold to the unsuspecting public as consumable animal skin products, otherwise called ‘Ponmo.’

Monitoring was also extended to some buyers who patronize the sellers and custodians of the warehouse.”

Prof. Mojisola also said that early investigations showed that some of the hides and skins were imported illegally and sometimes diverted to some merchants who re-process the hides and skins and further sell them as consumable ‘Ponmo’ to the public.
