Argentine and PSG forward Lionel Messi has said Paris Saint-Germain has the team to win the Champions League this season.
The five-time UCL winner and current Balon d'Or holder, Messi, who joined PSG from Barcelona last summer, understands there are expectations for his side to deliver the trophy, but also knows full well how hard it is to lift the Champions League.
Speaking to PSG’s official magazine, Messi said, “Winning the Champions League is difficult. It’s where the best [teams and players] compete; the slightest detail can eliminate you.
Big clubs and teams are in the mix. We [PSG] have the team give it a go. We are excited and keen to achieve it [win the Champions League], but we have to remain calm.
“In the Champions League, the best team doesn’t always win, and you have to pay attention to all the details; the strong teams are the ones who meet their targets.'
