BREAKING!!! Glo Users Face Disconnection from MTN Network , Says NCC

Globacom subscribers may face disruptions in making calls to MTN lines in the near future, as a result of unresolved interconnect charges. The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) made this announcement on Monday through a public notice signed by Reuben Muoka, the Director of the Public Affairs Department.

The notice explained that the NCC had granted partial approval for the disconnection of Globacom from MTN Nigeria Communications Plc.

It outlined that Globacom had been informed of MTN's application and given the opportunity to present its case. After examining the application and the circumstances surrounding the indebtedness, the NCC concluded that Globacom lacked sufficient or justifiable reasons for non-payment of the interconnect charges.

According to the NCC, after ten days from the date of the notice, Globacom subscribers may be unable to initiate calls to MTN numbers, although they will still be able to receive calls. The partial disconnection will, however, allow inbound calls to the Globacom network.

The dispute highlights the ongoing challenges related to interconnectivity and financial settlements between telecommunications operators in Nigeria.
