Manchester City Eyes Brazilian Winger Savio for Potential Transfer

Manchester City is eyeing a potential transfer move for Brazilian winger Savio, who has been instrumental in Girona's unexpected title challenge in LaLiga this season.

While no deal has been finalized yet, the teenager's loan status from Troyes, another club within the City Football Group, could facilitate negotiations.

Savio was acquired by Troyes for an initial €6.5 million in 2022 but has spent the previous season on loan at PSV Eindhoven before joining Girona for the ongoing campaign. Despite never featuring for Troyes, his impressive performances have caught the attention of Manchester City.

The young winger has made significant contributions to Girona's success, tallying five goals and seven assists, placing him among the top performers in LaLiga this season. Girona, also a City Football Group affiliate, boasts other notable players like Aleix Garcia, Eric Garcia, and Yan Couto.

Having started his career with Atletico Mineiro, Savio has predominantly operated on the left flank for Girona. His potential addition would bolster Manchester City's attacking options, adding depth and quality to their squad.

During the January transfer window, Manchester City secured the signing of Argentinian attacking midfielder Claudio Echeverri, who was subsequently loaned back to River Plate for the remainder of 2024.
