Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin addressed allegations on Monday that she stole gold from a market in Lagos Island, causing controversy.
A video circulating on social media shows her sitting in a store, attempting to defend herself.
In the viral video, Lizzy, wearing a facemask, tried to prevent the recording.
The embarrassed actress attempted to block the person filming from capturing her face and the situation.
Lizzy moved to a spot where her face wasn't visible in the video. A woman's voice in the background affirmed that Anjorin didn't steal. Meanwhile, people in the store observed the unfolding events as the shop owner attempted to dismiss some onlookers.
Lizzy Anjorin, denying the gold theft allegation from the popular video, stated that the incident revolved around an alleged failed transfer of N91,000 that she paid to an accessory seller on Tom Jones Street in the Idumota area of Lagos.
She claimed she was set up similar to filmmaker Olajide Kareem, also known as Seun Egbegbe.
Anjorin recounted that several months ago, she went to the market to purchase accessories worth N91,000 and instructed her husband to send the money to the seller.
She explained that upon returning to the same market recently, she was informed that the transfer she made on that day was considered fraudulent.
While addressing the issue, Anjorin also accused a famous actress (name withheld) of being behind the mishap.
