Tottenham in Advanced Talks for Timo Werner Loan Deal from RB Leipzig

Tottenham Hotspur is currently engaged in advanced discussions with RB Leipzig regarding a potential loan move for German striker Timo Werner. Manager Ange Postecoglou is keen on early transfer dealings to reinforce his squad, with central defense being the top priority.

While targeting Genoa's Radu Dragusin for that position, Postecoglou is also exploring options to strengthen the attacking front. Werner, a 27-year-old former Chelsea player, has emerged as a favorable choice due to his pace, intensity, and suitability for Tottenham's pressing strategy.

The club's captain and top scorer, Son Heung-min, is unavailable due to the Asian Cup, and Alejo VĂ©liz is dealing with a knee injury.

Talks are ongoing between Tottenham and Leipzig, and Werner is reportedly interested in a loan move to enhance his chances of participating in the European Championship. Chelsea signed Werner in 2020 for £47.5 million, and he returned to the Bundesliga in 2022 after scoring 10 goals in 56 Premier League games.
