Liverpool's search for a new manager following Jurgen Klopp's announcement of his departure at the end of the season continues, with reports suggesting that the club is considering Sporting Lisbon's Ruben Amorim. According to The Athletic's David Ornstein, dialogue may have already taken place regarding a potential move for Amorim.
Despite names like Xabi Alonso and Zinedine Zidane being rumored as potential successors to Klopp, Amorim has emerged as a dark horse for the job. The young manager has impressed during his time at Sporting Lisbon, with the club currently in contention for the Primeira Liga title.
Ornstein highlighted that Amorim's contract reportedly includes a release clause, which has become more affordable since Chelsea's interest in him before they appointed Mauricio Pochettino. This reduction in the release clause could make a move to Liverpool a viable option for Amorim.
Described as an "outstanding" coach by Portuguese football expert Tom Kundert, Amorim has enjoyed success at a young age, winning the Portuguese top-flight with Sporting Lisbon and the Taca da Liga in the same year at just 36 years old. His achievements have garnered attention from top clubs, and Liverpool is reportedly among those considering him as a potential candidate for the managerial role.
