Asake Triumphs as Best African Act at 2024 MOBO Awards



Asake, the breakout star of 2022 with his hit single 'Omo Ope', continues to shine brightly in the music industry, solidifying his superstar status with a string of hit releases and two successful albums. His remarkable journey reached new heights at the 2024 MOBO Awards where he clinched the prestigious title of Best African Act.


Competing against a lineup of Nigerian music icons including Adekunle Gold, Davido, Rema, Ayra Starr, Burna Boy, and Wizkid, among others, Asake emerged victorious, showcasing his undeniable talent and widespread appeal. The category also featured prominent African artists such as South Africa's Tyla, Cameroonian-American Libianca, and eSwatini's Uncle Waffles.


Adding to Nigeria's success at the awards, Afro-gospel sensation Limoblaze secured the title of Best Gospel Act, further highlighting the country's dominance in the music scene.
