After the singer fulfilled his promise of disbursing the N250 million to 292 orphanages across Nigerian, recipients of the Nigerian singer's charitable act have penned appreciation messages to the singer.
Davido had released an official statement in November 2021 where he announced his intention of donating the sum of 200 million Naira received from his friends and family, together with his donation of N50 million, to orphanages across Nigerians.
He made this statement hours after a popular Twitter user called him out for not updating the public.
He tweeted :
“Davido is yet to update the public regarding the N250m he donated, Feb 15th marks two months he promised to give an update. If truly the money has been disbursed, Davido should make an official statement with a full detail of how each dime was spent. People are entitled to know”.
Following the tweet, Davido gave an update on the disbursement.
He confirmed that the money had been donated to the selected orphanages and shared the names of orphanages that benefited from his kindness.
Despite this tweet, some Nigerians didn't seem to believe him, they believed the donation was an attempt to warm his way into people’s hearts.
Proving that the singer is indeed a generous man, many of the orphanages who benefited from his philanthropic deeds have taken to their Twitter accounts to appreciate him.
