ID Cabasa Reveals Parenting Dilemmas for Nigerian Artists and Unravels Burna Boy's $5 Million Dubai Drama

Renowned record producer Olumide Ogunade, popularly known as ID Cabasa, recently shared insights on the parenting dynamics

of Nigerian artists during an episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast co-hosted by actor Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, aka Nedu. According to Cabasa, many Nigerian artists who are parents are hesitant to let their children listen to their music due to explicit lyrical content. He emphasized that a significant number of artists are primarily driven by the need to make ends meet in the challenging music industry.

In the same podcast episode, ID Cabasa addressed Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy's recent claim that he turned down a $5 million offer to perform in Dubai because of Emirati laws prohibiting smoking in public. Cabasa expressed skepticism, suggesting that Burna Boy's statement might be a "media stunt." He questioned the authenticity of the claim, stating that the substantial amount involved ($5 million) made the situation seem improbable. Cabasa humorously added that if he were offered $5 million, he would willingly forego smoking during the performance, even though he doesn't smoke, proposing a more reasonable fee of $3 million.

These insights from ID Cabasa shed light on the multifaceted challenges and decisions faced by Nigerian artists, both in their personal lives as parents and in navigating the entertainment industry's demands.
