Premier League Club Owner pleads guilty in US insider trading case

British billionaire Joe Lewis, owner of Tottenham Hotspur football club, has pleaded guilty to three criminal counts in an insider trading case.

The charges include one count of conspiracy to commit securities fraud and two counts of securities fraud. While the charges carry a maximum potential sentence of 45 years in prison, Lewis is likely to receive a lesser sentence at his hearing on March 28.

Lewis surrendered to US authorities last year after being accused of providing confidential information about public companies to friends, pilots, and others and lending them money to trade on that knowledge.
