DJ Khaled, 48, is facing criticism after a video surfaced of him being carried by two security guards to avoid getting his Nike Air Jordan sneakers dirty. The music producer posted the video while promoting his upcoming album, drawing ire from fans.
In the clip, Khaled is seen opening his car door and then calling over his security personnel. "I don’t want to get my Jordans dirty," he explains as the guards lift him and carry him over the sand to a pick-up truck.
During the journey to the beach-side stage, Khaled expresses gratitude to the guards, stating, "Thank you brothers, I appreciate it. Can't mess up the Js."
Once at the concert space, the guards once again lift Khaled out of the truck and carry him to the stage's steps.
The backlash comes as Khaled is reported to have received the J Balvin x Air Jordan 3 "Rio" sneakers ahead of their scheduled release in May 2024.
