Luka Modric's Goal Seals Real Madrid's 1-0 Win Over Sevilla

Luka Modric's spectacular goal secured a 1-0 victory for Real Madrid against Sevilla, extending their lead at the top of the La Liga standings to eight points. The decisive moment came in the 81st minute at the Santiago Bernabeu, with Modric coming off the bench to score.

Carlo Ancelotti's side faced frustration earlier in the match when Lucas Vazquez's goal was disallowed by VAR in the 10th minute after a consultation with the pitchside monitor. Despite their dominance, Sevilla had opportunities of their own, with Youssef En-Nesyri missing a great chance and Andriy Lunin making a crucial save to deny Isaac Romero.

En-Nesyri squandered a golden opportunity to put Sevilla ahead in the eighth minute, while Valverde's effort for Madrid was saved by Orjan Nyland. Madrid's dominance continued after the break, with Valverde hitting the post and Lunin making another important save to keep out Romero.

The match took a turn when referee Isidro Diaz de Mera Escuderos was forced off with an injury, resulting in the fourth official taking his place. Madrid capitalized on the disruption, and Modric's fantastic strike ensured they secured all three points.

Sevilla pushed for an equalizer late on, but Madrid held on for the win, strengthening their position at the top of the La Liga table.
