Tuchel's Future at Bayern Munich in Doubt After Poor Run of Form

Thomas Tuchel's position as Bayern Munich's head coach has come under scrutiny following a series of disappointing results, leaving the Bundesliga champions facing the prospect of a trophyless season for the first time since 2011-12.

Bayern's chief executive, Jan-Christian Dreesen, announced that Tuchel's collaboration with the club will end in the summer, with both parties mutually agreeing to part ways. Dreesen stated, "Our goal is to carry out a sporting realignment with a new coach for the 2024/25 season."

Tuchel, who took over in March 2023, confirmed the decision, saying, "We have agreed that we will end our collaboration after this season. Until then, I and my coaching team will of course continue to do everything we can to ensure maximum success."

Bayern's recent 3-2 defeat to Bochum marked their third consecutive loss, a feat not seen since 2015. This followed a 3-0 defeat to title rivals Bayer Leverkusen and a 1-0 loss to Lazio in the Champions League first leg.

Jurgen Klopp, who is set to leave Liverpool at the end of the season, and Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso have been suggested as possible successors to Tuchel at the Allianz Arena. Alonso has also been linked with a move to Anfield to replace Klopp.
