Emma Stone Wins Second Best Actress Oscar for "Poor Things"

Emma Stone has won the Oscar for Best Actress at the 96th Academy Awards in Los Angeles for her role in "Poor Things." This marks her second win in this category, following her win in 2017 for "La La Land."

In "Poor Things," Stone plays Bella Baxter, a character created from a child's brain implanted into an adult's body, in the period fantasy comedy directed by Yorgos Lanthimos. The film has been controversial due to its depiction of sex and nudity.

Stone's win comes after facing strong competition, including Lily Gladstone for "Killers of the Flower Moon," Sandra Hüller for "Anatomy of a Fall," and Carey Mulligan for "Maestro."

During her acceptance speech, Stone expressed her admiration for Gladstone and thanked her for their shared experience. She also thanked the team behind "Poor Things," including director Yorgos Lanthimos, and dedicated the award to her family, including her young daughter.

With this win, Stone joins the ranks of double Best Actress Oscar winners such as Meryl Streep, Jane Fonda, and Jodie Foster.
