Amaju Pinnick Endorses Finidi George for Super Eagles Coaching Role



Former president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has expressed his support for Finidi George to lead the Super Eagles, citing his attributes and experience.

Finidi recently managed the Super Eagles in two international friendlies against the Black Stars of Ghana and Eagles of Mali. The former Ajax winger is among the candidates vying for the Super Eagles' top position.

Pinnick highlighted Finidi's background, including his time as an assistant to former Super Eagles handler Jose Peseiro. Pinnick believes Finidi possesses the right qualities to lead the national team.

He praised Finidi's experience, noting his time under renowned coach Luis Van Gaal and his success at clubs like Real Betis and Ajax, where he honed his skills in developmental football.

Pinnick acknowledged that although Finidi's recent coaching stint had mixed results, he believes in his leadership, dexterity, and humility, which are essential for a coach.

He emphasized the need to support Finidi, who has both played and coached at the highest levels, including coaching one of Africa's most successful teams.

Pinnick concluded by advocating for building capacity around Finidi, leveraging his experience and knowledge to benefit the Super Eagles.
