NFL player Rashee Rice is facing a lawsuit for over $10 million from two individuals injured in a Dallas car crash he was involved in. The incident occurred on March 30 when Rice was allegedly racing his friend Theodore Knox in a Lamborghini Urus, which led to a massive pileup on a Texas highway.
According to TMZ, the plaintiffs, Edvard Petrovskiy and Irina Gromova, claim that Rice and Knox lost control of their vehicles, causing a Corvette to crash into other innocent drivers on the roadway. The lawsuit alleges that both Rice and Knox left the scene without checking on those impacted by the crash, some of whom were severely injured.
Petrovskiy and Gromova are seeking punitive damages of no less than $10 million, citing injuries such as brain trauma, lacerations requiring stitches, and internal bleeding. They are also seeking compensatory damages for medical bills, mental anguish, property damage, and more.
While Rice has not publicly commented on the lawsuit, his attorney, Royce West, stated shortly after the accident that Rice would do everything possible to make everyone involved whole again. Both Rice and Knox are also facing criminal charges, including aggravated assault and collision involving serious bodily injury.
