A second-half hat-trick from Karim Benzema helped Real Madrid secure a place in the Champions League quarter-finals.
The whites produced a shocking comeback after Benzema scored thrice at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium, Madrid, on Wednesday, in the second leg of their round of 16 UEFA Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain.
Kylian Mbappe gave the visitors the lead in the 39th minute and Real were 2 nil down on aggregate but Benzema’s tricky second-half hat-trick was enough to send the star-studded PSG off the European stage.
Madrid lost to PSG 0-1 in the first leg in Paris but were able to get the next round ticket ahead of the Parisians on aggregate.
Meanwhile, the other Wednesday’s Champions League fixture between Manchester City and Sporting Lisbon ended goalless at the Etihad.
The result means City also qualified for the next round 5-0 aggregate, having beat Lisbon 5-nill in the first leg of the round of 16.
