In recent legal developments, Darius Jackson, the ex-partner of American actress Keke Palmer, has filed a counterclaim in response to her obtaining a temporary restraining order against him last month. Jackson, 29, alleges that Palmer, 30, was both verbally and physically abusive during their two-year relationship and acted as the primary aggressor.
Jackson details specific incidents in his counterclaim, including an alleged physical altercation at a birthday party in August 2021, where Palmer purportedly punched him in the face. Another incident in January 2022 involved Palmer allegedly punching the windshield of Jackson's car while he was driving. On February 28, 2022, Jackson claims Palmer physically attacked him by choking and hitting him at her Los Angeles residence. In a later incident on March 12, 2023, Jackson states that an intoxicated Palmer cursed him amid plumbing issues at her home.
Taking to Instagram, Jackson shared a video of his gym workout, emphasizing his focus on religion and physical wellness during this challenging time. He alluded to there being more to the situation that he is not allowed to disclose.
In response to Palmer's allegations, Jackson defends himself, stating that surveillance footage presented by Palmer from a November 5 incident was misleading. He claims Palmer's mother directed threats at him during a phone call, and Palmer resisted and fell back on the couch during the alleged attack.
Regarding Palmer's accusations of violent jealousy over a social media post, Jackson contends that he was concerned about potential harm and tore his shirt as he attempted to leave their home.
In his counterclaim, Jackson seeks joint legal and physical custody of their son, Leodis Andrellton, aged nine months. Additionally, he requests the court to dismiss Palmer's petition for a restraining order and asks her to cover his legal fees. Palmer, on the other hand, has requested a delay in the restraining order hearing to pursue mediation privately.
The court is scheduled to address Palmer's restraining order request in a hearing on January 9, as reported by the Los Angeles Times.
