Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to Visit Nigeria for Wounded Soldiers

 


The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, are scheduled to arrive in Nigeria on Friday, May 10th, for a private visit. They were invited by the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa.


During their three-day visit from 10th to 13th May 2024, Prince Harry, the founder of the Invictus Games, will interact with wounded soldiers and their families. Air Vice Marshal Abidemi Marquis, the Director of Sports at Defence Headquarters, DHQ, stated that the visit aims to support wounded soldiers in their recovery efforts.


Marquis highlighted the positive impact of such interactions, noting that 80% of soldiers involved in the recovery program have shown improvement. He emphasized the importance of addressing mental health issues and improving the outlook on life for soldiers with permanent disabilities.
