NAFDAC Arrests Ten Suspects Over Beverage Adulteration

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has arrested ten suspects involved in the adulteration of beverages.

The agency also closed down Cemetery Market in Aba, Abia State, after discovering that over 240 shops were being used for large-scale production of fake consumables, including wines and drinks, with the revalidation of expiry dates.

The Director of the South-East Zone of NAFDAC, Martins Iluyomade, compared the situation to the severity of Boko Haram, emphasizing the need to address the dangers posed by the illegal manufacturing activities. Iluyomade recommended temporarily shutting down the market for sanitization.
