Nigerians question Toke Makinwa selection to represent Nigeria at COP28 Climate Summit

Nigerians on social media are criticizing On-Air Personality Toke Makinwa for her presence at the COP28 Climate Summit in Dubai.

Toke had expressed excitement about attending the summit, emphasizing the importance of global leaders discussing climate change. Critics, however, condemned her attendance, questioning the Nigerian government's choice of entertainment industry representatives for such a significant event.

Toke Makinwa, IBD Dende, and Seyi Tinubu were listed as attendees for COP28 by the Federal Government. Toke documented her presence on Instagram, promising updates as the summit progressed.

Netizens express concerns about the apparent misuse of taxpayer dollars for political goals and highlight the need for accountability and transparency in selecting representatives for international gatherings. Nigerians call for politicians to prioritize individuals who can genuinely contribute to meaningful conversations on climate change.
