Nigeria's football team coach, Jose Peseiro, has urged the Super Eagles to secure maximum points in their remaining group game and avoid over-celebrating their victory against tournament hosts, Cote D'Ivoire.
"Now is not the time to celebrate; I have told the players to eat properly, rest well, and start preparation for the next game against Guinea-Bissau," the Portuguese tactician said in a press conference.
"The game on Monday is very important, and that is what we should focus on now. We will only celebrate when we win the tournament. Now it’s time to work, work, and work."
The 63-year-old Peseiro believes his team can go all the way and win the title but pointed out an area that needs improvement.
"For the next match, against Guinea-Bissau, we have to control the game, try to be less timid, and not give possession to the opponent. I told my players not to savor the victory. We have four days left before the next match. From day one, I told them: 'You must win the Afcon.'"
