NYSC Debunks Ransom Payment Claims for Kidnapped Corps Members in Zamfara

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has refuted claims of ransom payment for the release of kidnapped prospective corps members in Zamfara State. Eddy Megwa, the NYSC Director of Press and Public Relations, clarified that security agencies and the NYSC collaborated to secure their release, emphasizing that no ransom was paid.

The NYSC cautioned against fraudulent donation appeals, disassociating itself from claims that Akwa Ibom State Government or any other entity paid money for the release.

The management, responsible for the medical bills, urged the public, especially parents and governments, to avoid falling victim to fraudulent elements seeking donations.

The NYSC has successfully released four out of eight kidnapped prospective corps members without any ransom payment, continuing efforts to secure the release of the remaining individuals.
