Dana Airplane Overshoots Runway During Landing at Lagos Airport

 


An incident occurred at the domestic wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos involving an aircraft belonging to Dana Air. The aircraft experienced a runway incursion upon landing from Abuja on Tuesday, leading to an overshoot of the runway.


Thankfully, all 83 passengers and crew members onboard the flight are safe and well, according to a statement from Dana Air's Head of Corporate Communications, Kingsley Ezenwa. The airline expressed relief at the safe disembarkation of all passengers and crew, noting that the situation was handled with utmost professionalism by the crew.


The exact cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained, but Dana Air has reported the incident to the Accident Investigation Bureau and the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) for appropriate action. The aircraft involved has been grounded for further investigation by the airline's maintenance team.


Dana Air reassured passengers that their safety is their top priority and that they are fully cooperating with the authorities to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
