Gunmen Kill Police Inspector in Port Harcourt, Rivers State

 

Gunmen driving in a Sienna bus attacked police officers conducting a stop-and-search operation along the Eliozu axis of the East-West Road in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The assailants opened fire, killing a police inspector.


SP. Grace Iringe-Koko, the spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, confirmed the incident and condemned the senseless attack. During the exchange of gunfire, one of the attackers was killed.


The statement from the command described the incident as heinous and announced that an investigation had been launched. The police have identified the group responsible and vowed to bring them to justice. The Command also expressed condolences to the family and colleagues of the fallen inspector, emphasizing their commitment to maintaining peace and protecting citizens.
