J. Cole Surprises Fans with Release of "Might Delete Later" Project

J. Cole, the Dreamville boss, made a surprise return to the music scene with the release of his project titled "Might Delete Later" on Friday, April 5. The project consists of 12 tracks and features collaborations with various artists including Gucci Mane, Cam’ron, Bas, Central Cee, Ari Lennox, Young Dro, and more.

Several songs on "Might Delete Later" were previously teased by Cole in his Vlogs of the same name, which documented his travels as part of Drake’s "Big As the What? Tour" earlier this year. One of the tracks features Cole and Killa Cam rapping over Dipset’s “I’m Ready.”

It seems that "Might Delete Later" serves as a teaser for fans, as Cole reminds everyone that "The Fall-Off" is still scheduled for release later this year.

This project follows Kendrick Lamar’s recent guest verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s "We Don’t Trust You," where he seemingly took shots at Cole and Drake, making it a busy time for the rap game.

J. Cole's last album, "The Off-Season," was released in 2021 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 282,000 equivalent album units sold in its first week.

In addition to the surprise project drop, Cole is hosting his annual Dreamville Fest this weekend (April 6 and April 7). The festival features a star-studded lineup including SZA, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Lil Yachty, JID, ScHoolboy Q, and more.
