According to MARCA, Kylian Mbappe has already signed his first contract with Real Madrid, as reported by anonymous sources. The French forward informed his current club, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), last week that he intends to leave them when he becomes a free agent after June 30.
MARCA reported on Monday that Mbappe signed a contract with Real Madrid two weeks ago and will officially become their biggest signing of the 21st century on July 1. This move marks the third time Mbappe has been linked to Los Blancos, with previous rumors in 2017 and 2022.
In 2017, Mbappe chose to join PSG from Monaco instead of moving to Real Madrid. Similarly, in 2022, he appeared poised to join Real Madrid on a free transfer, but PSG made a significant offer that convinced him to stay, making him the highest-paid soccer player according to Forbes.
Despite previous indications that Mbappe might stay with PSG longer due to a 'Mbappe 2025' shirt celebrating his contract renewal, his current PSG contract expires in 2024 with an additional 12 months optional.
While PSG hasn't ruled out making another offer to keep Mbappe, MARCA reports that his entourage has advised the club not to bother, as Mbappe has already committed to joining Real Madrid. Mbappe reportedly informed PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi of his decision to leave, instructing him not to present any new renewal offers.
Al-Khelaifi is now focused on ensuring Mbappe fulfills a commitment to PSG this summer, which involves forgoing the third installment of a substantial loyalty bonus. Mbappe reportedly waived between $65-75 million in loyalty bonuses to facilitate his move to Real Madrid.
