The Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) has decided to suspend its planned nationwide strike following a meeting with the Federal Government and stakeholders on Monday, February 19. The association had earlier issued a strike notice due to economic conditions affecting tanker drivers.
NARTO's members were planning a countrywide shutdown starting on Monday in response to the exorbitant cost of diesel, essential for fueling their trucks in transporting petroleum products across Nigeria. Diesel prices had reached N1,226.69 per litre last week, prompting the association to take action.
