Leicester City Women have parted ways with their manager, Willie Kirk, following an investigation into his alleged relationship with a female player at the club.
Kirk, 45, was suspended earlier this month while the club looked into the allegations. His absence saw Leicester suffer two league defeats against Tottenham and Brighton, but they secured a 2-0 win against Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
Having initially joined Leicester in July 2022 as director of football, Kirk took over as manager just four months later, succeeding Lydia Bedford. Under his management, Leicester is currently placed ninth in the Women's Super League (WSL) with 16 points from 17 matches.
As the club searches for a permanent replacement, Jennifer Foster and Stephen Kirby will take temporary charge of the team.
Kirk's dismissal marks the end of his two-year stint with Leicester City Women.
