Ronaldo's Al-Nassr Exit Asian Champions League After Penalty Shootout Loss

Al-Nassr, led by Cristiano Ronaldo, suffered a heartbreaking exit from the Asian Champions League quarter-finals, losing 3-1 on penalties to Al-Ain after a thrilling encounter on Monday.

Despite overturning a 1-0 first-leg deficit with a 4-3 victory in the second leg, Al-Nassr was unable to secure a spot in the semi-finals as the match ended 4-4 on aggregate, leading to a shootout that Al-Ain ultimately won.

Al-Nassr's foreign imports Miroslav Brozovic, Alex Telles, and Otavio all failed to score from the spot, while Al-Ain's goalkeeper Khalid Eisa made crucial saves to send his team to the next round.

The dramatic clash at Al-Awwal Park featured seven goals and a red card, with Al-Ain initially taking control with goals from Soufiane Rahimi in the 28th and 45th minutes. However, Abdulrahman Ghareeb's strike in injury time of the first half kept Al-Nassr's hopes alive.

After the break, Otavio and Telles scored to level the aggregate scores, but a red card for Ayman Yahya and a late goal from Al-Shamsi sent the game to a shootout, where Al-Ain emerged victorious.

This loss marks Al-Nassr's elimination from the tournament, while Al-Ain advances to the semi-finals to face either Al-Hilal or Al-Ittihad next month.
