Police Begin Investigation into Alleged Murder at Lagos Shopping Mall

The Lagos State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Anosikwa Patrick, who was allegedly stabbed by a police officer at the Skymall shopping mall in Ajah on Saturday, April 20, 2024.

A user on X had taken to social media to seek justice after his brother was purportedly stabbed by the officer in the mall.

According to a statement released by the command's spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, today, April 21, the manager and chief security officer of the mall are already in custody, assisting with the ongoing investigation. The police officer involved has been identified as Inspector Taofeek, a member of the visiting 12 PMF squadron to Lagos.

Hundeyin added that the state Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Adegoke Fayoade, has directed detectives from the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department to ensure a speedy and diligent investigation to ensure that the culprit is brought to book.
