Trabzonspor to Play Six Home Matches Behind Closed Doors, Fenerbahce Players Banned After Post-Game Brawl

Trabzonspor will play their next six home matches without spectators, and Trabzonspor coach Egemen Korkmaz will be banned from the dressing room and bench for one match, the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) ruled on Wednesday. This decision comes after Trabzonspor supporters stormed the pitch and fought with security forces and Fenerbahce players following their team's 3-2 home defeat at Papara Park last month.

In addition to the spectator ban, Trabzonspor has been fined three million Turkish lira ($93,899.65) and will face other punitive measures. Meanwhile, Fenerbahce players Irfan Can Egribayat and Jayden Quinn Oosterwolde have each been banned for one match and given minor fines for their involvement in the on-field brawl.

Fenerbahce had previously considered withdrawing from the Super Lig over the incident but decided against it at an extraordinary club congress on Tuesday. They currently sit in second place after 30 games, five points behind main rivals Galatasaray, who have a game in hand. Fenerbahce will host Adana Demirspor on Wednesday.
