Rapper Oladips has criticized his fellow artist Qdot for making a public announcement about his survival after false reports of his "death" circulated.
Oladips accused Qdot of seeking attention by declaring him alive, stating that it was misleading and uncalled for, especially at a time when his family was uncertain about his condition. Expressing his frustration, Oladips emphasized the need for truth in such situations.
In response to Qdot's post, Oladips clarified that they hadn't communicated since January 2, 2022, and he intends to reveal the complete story with evidence.
He condemned the use of a 2-year-old video by a social media user as proof of his current state and accused bloggers of misleading Nigerians for likes and comments.
The controversy began on November 13 when a video depicting Oladips in distress was shared on his Instagram account. Subsequently, on November 14, news of his death emerged, raising suspicions of a publicity stunt due to his recent release of a song about dying young.
Qdot's announcement on November 17, disputing Oladips' reported death, further fueled the controversy, prompting Oladips to share evidence of his current status on social media.
