Despite enjoying over 55% possession, Girona struggled to create opportunities, managing just one shot on target. The draw propelled Girona back to the top of the LaLiga standings with 49 points, one ahead of Real Madrid, who had a Super Cup final against Barcelona later in the day.
Almeria, despite dominating the game, couldn't secure a win, remaining winless in the league after 20 matches.
