Liverpool and Feyenoord Agree on Arne Slot as Jurgen Klopp’s Successor

Liverpool and Feyenoord have reached a verbal agreement for Dutch manager Arne Slot to take over from Jurgen Klopp at the start of next season. The agreement, which was finalized on Friday evening, includes a fee of up to £9.42 million.

The deal also involves Slot's right-hand man Sipke Hulshoff and head of performance Ruben Peeters moving to Liverpool, along with analyst Etienne Reijnen. Klopp publicly endorsed Slot on Friday, describing him as a "good coach and good guy."

Liverpool initially had an opening bid of £7.7 million rejected but continued negotiations, eventually settling on a deal believed to be around £9.4 million including add-ons. Klopp expressed his approval of Slot, praising the way his team plays football and describing him as a good person.

With just four games remaining as Liverpool boss, Klopp stated, "If he's the solution or the man, then I'm more than happy. It's the best job in the world, the best club in the world."

Klopp acknowledged that there is room for improvement, but he believes Slot will take on an interesting and fantastic job at Liverpool.
