Funke Akindele has achieved another milestone with her recent film, "A Tribe Called Judah," which has grossed an unprecedented 1 billion Naira at the Nigerian box office in just three weeks. This remarkable success makes it the fastest Nollywood movie to reach this financial feat and establishes it as the highest-grossing Nollywood film of all time, with earnings still accumulating. Funke Akindele, who directed the film, now holds the title of the highest-grossing Nollywood director.


Released in December 2023, "A Tribe Called Judah" is a poignant and comedic drama narrating the tale of a single mother and her five sons who, grappling with financial difficulties, devise a plan to rob a mall. However, their scheme takes an unexpected turn when they encounter another group of robbers already on the scene.



The movie features an ensemble cast, including Funke Akindele, Timini Egbuson, Jide Kene Achufusi, Uzee Usman, Tobi Makinde, Olumide Oworu, Genoveva Umeh, Nse Ikpe Etim, Juliana Olayode, Uzor Arukwe, Fathia Balogun, Yvonne Jegede, and more.
