Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has encouraged Nigerians, especially residents of Lagos, to maintain hope and continue living in peace and harmony in the new year.

Sanwo-Olu urged Lagos residents to stay optimistic about the increased prosperity that the country, and particularly Lagos, would experience as both federal and state governments address the various challenges facing the state and the nation.

In his New Year message, as conveyed by his Chief Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile, the governor emphasized his administration's commitment to improving the lives and prosperity of all Lagosians in the coming year.

Sanwo-Olu assured residents that significant accomplishments would be achieved across various sectors in alignment with the THEMES+ agenda of his administration in 2024.

“I extend my wishes for a Happy and Prosperous New Year to every Lagosian. We are grateful to God for the grace to witness the New Year, and we welcome 2024 with hope and faith. 2023 was a year of great strides for us in Lagos, marked by the significant support of residents who re-elected us for another four years. We will not let you down.

“I want to assure millions of Lagos residents that 2024 is the year when we will expedite efforts to deliver more good governance and the dividends of democracy that you elected us for. As your governor, I promise to continue providing leadership that will bring greater opportunities and a more prosperous life for Lagosians.

“We will work diligently for a better and faster Lagos this year and throughout the remaining years of our second term in office, accelerating development across the key areas outlined in our THEMES+ agenda.

“My New Year message to all Lagosians is to remain hopeful for greater prosperity for Lagos. I want to assure you that better times lie ahead. We are committed to offering hope to the hopeless, fulfilling our solemn promise. We wish all Lagosians the very best in this New Year.”
