Deadpool Returns in "Deadpool and Wolverine" Trailer at Super Bowl

After a hiatus of nearly six years and Disney's acquisition of Fox's "X-Men" movies, Deadpool makes his triumphant return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the first trailer for "Deadpool and Wolverine," unveiled during the 2024 Super Bowl.

The trailer showcases the Time Variance Authority, last seen in "Loki" Season 2, kidnapping Deadpool during his birthday celebration and introducing him to the MCU. Renaming himself "Marvel Jesus," Deadpool promises to inject his trademark R-rated humor and fourth-wall-breaking antics into Disney's family-friendly brand. Though Wolverine's face is not revealed, his presence is hinted at from behind, culminating in a shadowy face-off between the two characters.

Production on "Deadpool 3" faced delays due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, resulting in a shift from its original release date in May to July. The franchise's previous installments broke records at the box office, setting high expectations for the upcoming sequel.

Director Shawn Levy teases an homage to the "Star Wars" franchise in "Deadpool 3," promising fans an unforgettable cinematic experience infused with personal touches and nods to iconic moments from film history.

As anticipation builds for the return of Deadpool, fans eagerly await the next chapter in the irreverent anti-hero's adventures within the expansive Marvel universe.
