Twitter and other social media platforms were abuzz on Tuesday (6 February), not over Drake's music, but due to an alleged leaked video purportedly showing the Canadian rapper engaged in a sexual act while naked.
The frenzy began after popular Kick streamer Adin Ross, who has collaborated with Drake in the past, sent the rapper a voice memo regarding the leaked clip. In the recording shared online, Ross expresses shock at the video and praises Drake's talents, urging him to stay true to himself.
According to Ross, Drake responded to the message with amusement, using laughing emojis and jokingly suggesting he might use the streamer's voice note as the intro for his next album.
Drake himself has not publicly addressed the alleged leak, which some speculate was filmed on his private jet. Requests for comment from Drake's representatives went unanswered.
This incident follows a recent controversy involving pornographic deepfake images of Taylor Swift circulating on social media platforms, including X. Despite the platform's rules against such content, the nonconsensual images, created using AI, garnered millions of views before the account responsible was suspended.
In response, X temporarily blocked searches for Swift's name and emphasized its commitment to removing prohibited content and maintaining a safe environment for users.
