Inter Miami Draws 1-1 with LA Galaxy, Messi Scores Late Equalizer

Lionel Messi scored a dramatic injury-time goal for Inter Miami in their 1-1 draw with LA Galaxy on Sunday. The match saw Galaxy take the lead in the 75th minute through striker Dejan Joveljic, but their advantage was short-lived as midfielder Mark Delgado was sent off for a second yellow card.

With Galaxy down to 10 men, Messi combined brilliantly with former Barcelona teammate Jordi Alba, sliding in at full stretch to beat goalkeeper John McCarthy and secure a point for Miami. This was Messi's first goal for Miami since joining the club.

Miami had started all four of their ex-Barcelona players in the match, with Messi, Alba, Sergio Busquets, and Luis Suarez all featuring. Despite a slow start, Miami showed character to come back and earn a draw.

In other MLS action, Phil Neville's Portland Timbers secured a convincing 4-1 victory over the Colorado Rapids in their opening game of the season. This was Neville's first win since returning to MLS after being sacked by Inter Miami last year.
