Manchester City captain Kyle Walker has dismissed suggestions that Pep Guardiola's starting lineup was to blame for their dropped points against Chelsea. Despite missing key players like Jack Grealish, Bernardo Silva, and John Stones due to injury and fitness concerns, Walker insisted that whoever plays for City usually performs well.
City fell four points behind Liverpool with a game in hand after their draw against Chelsea. While Walker expressed disappointment, he defended Guardiola's lineup choices, stating, "Whoever starts, whoever the manager puts, he feels that that's the right team to go and win the game."
Walker acknowledged that City missed a chance to go top of the table, considering Liverpool's involvement in the Carabao Cup final next weekend. He also recognized the challenges posed by both Liverpool and Arsenal in the title race but emphasized City's motivation to achieve an unprecedented fourth consecutive league title.
