Nigerian Catholic Priest Blames Nigerians for Country's Hardship

Fr. Kelvin Ugwu, a Nigerian Catholic priest, recently stirred controversy with his remarks attributing Nigeria's hardships to its citizens. In a Facebook post on Tuesday, February 20, responding to followers who suggested that the prayers of poor and hungry Nigerians would affect President Tinubu, Fr. Ugwu stated, "The truth is that there is nothing that will catch up with Tinubu. Absolutely nothing. He will even live longer than you can imagine."

In his post, Fr. Ugwu highlighted various factors contributing to Nigeria's challenges, including "mediocrity, tribalism, anyhowness, fake religiosity, lack of common sense, etc." He emphasized that Nigerians are now facing the consequences of these attitudes and behaviors. He also urged people to pray for their own well-being before praying for others.
