Nigeria's GDP Grews by 3.46% in Q4 2023, NBS Reports


President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of a new four-man management team for the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), pending their confirmation by the Nigerian Senate. The appointees, as announced by presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale, include Gbenga Alade as Managing Director/CEO, Aminu Ismail, Adeshola Lamidi, and Lucky Adaghe as Executive Directors.

In a statement, President Tinubu emphasized the need for unflagging dedication, professionalism, and dutifulness from the new appointees to ensure that AMCON's operations are more efficient, transparent, and aligned with his efforts to sanitize the nation’s financial system, maximize value, and enhance investor confidence in the Nigerian economy.

President Tinubu also approved the appointment of qualified Nigerians to serve in three agencies under the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy. The new appointees include Abraham Oshadami as Executive Commissioner, Technical Services; Rimini Makama as Executive Commissioner, Stakeholder Management; and Opeyemi Dele-Ajayi as President/CEO, Digital Bridge Institute for the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

For the Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Limited, Abiodun Attah was appointed as Executive Director, Technical Services; Aisha Abdullahi as Executive Director, Finance & Administration; and Jaiyeola Awokoya as Executive Director, Marketing & Business Development.

President Tinubu expressed hope that these seasoned professionals in the reconstituted management teams will deliver excellent service to enhance the impact of the digital economy sector on the socio-economic development of the nation.
