Despite a challenging start to his managerial career, Wayne Rooney remains determined to manage in the Premier League and has identified Everton and Manchester United as his dream clubs. Rooney, who spent 16 years as a player at both clubs, expressed his desire to return in a managerial capacity, despite his recent sacking at Birmingham City after just three months in charge.
The Manchester United legend took over at Birmingham in October but was dismissed last month following a disappointing run, winning only two out of 15 games and losing nine. Birmingham, who were sixth in the Championship when Rooney was appointed, found themselves just six points above the relegation zone at the time of his sacking.
Despite these setbacks, Rooney remains undeterred, stating that the early challenges in his managerial career have not dampened his spirits.
