Governor Abba Yusuf has announced a subsidy for Muslim pilgrims from Kano State, bringing relief to many following a sudden N1.9 million increase in the Hajj fare by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria for the 2024 pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
Governor Yusuf approved a subsidy of N500,000 for each intending pilgrim from Kano, reducing the burden on them. This means that those who have registered and paid the initial total deposit of N4.7 million and N4.5 million with the State Pilgrims Board will now only need to deposit N1.4 million of the N1.9 million increase.
