Kendrick Lamar Takes Shots at Drake and J. Cole on Future and Metro Boomin's Album

In a verse on Future and Metro Boomin's latest album "We Don't Trust You," Kendrick Lamar doesn't hold back in addressing Drake and J. Cole. He raps, "Yeah, get up with me, fuck sneak dissing/'First Person Shooter,' I hope they came with three switches," followed by a definitive statement, "Think I won't drop the location? I still got PTSD/Motherfuck the Big 3, n***a, it's just big me."

Lamar's verse continues with a reference to Drake's last album, "‘fore all your dogs gettin' buried, that's a K with all these nines, he gon' see Pet Sematary."

Drake and J. Cole had previously collaborated on the Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper "First Person Shooter" from J. Cole's 2023 album "For All the Dogs." In the song, J. Cole rapped, "Love when they argue the hardest MC/Is it K-Dot? Is it Aubrey? Or me?/We the big three like we started a league, but right now, I feel like Muhammad Ali." Drake also referenced Kendrick with the line, "Who the GOAT? Who you bitches really rooting for?/Like a kid that act bad from January to November, n***a, it's just you and Cole."

Despite their history of collaborations, Kendrick and Drake have also had a history of sending subtle and not-so-subtle shots at each other. Similarly, Kendrick and J. Cole have collaborated on several tracks in the past and even teased a joint album, although Cole mentioned last fall that the project was scrapped because it would require them to commit to at least a year of work together.

While tensions seem to be high between Kendrick and his fellow artists, fans can't help but speculate on the implications of these lyrical jabs and what they might mean for the future of hip-hop.
