Reno Omokri Criticizes Reuben Abati for Questioning Seyi Tinubu's Profession

Former presidential spokesman Reno Omokri has criticized Arise TV host Dr. Reuben Abati for questioning the profession of Seyi Tinubu, the son of the president.

Abati had expressed his views on Seyi Tinubu following his attendance at a business summit in Qatar with his father. He remarked, "May we begin to ask what the President’s children do for a living? I mean, by the time I was their age I was doing something concrete. I got a PhD at 24. I wasn’t depending on any father."

In response, Omokri condemned Abati's comments, stating that they cast doubt on his credibility as a journalist. Omokri also defended Seyi Tinubu's attendance at the business summit, noting that it is not uncommon for children of political figures to accompany their parents on official trips.

Omokri further cited examples of other political figures, such as Margaret Thatcher and President Obasanjo, who had taken their children on official trips. He also pointed out that current U.S. President Joe Biden had taken his son, Hunter Biden, on a business summit in China.

In conclusion, Omokri stated that while he might not agree with Seyi Tinubu's actions, questioning his profession was unwarranted and reflected poorly on Abati's professionalism as a journalist.
