Expert reveals how CCTV was tampered with during baba ijesha case.

James Olarewaju aka Baba Ijesha is currently on trial and facing a six-count charge of child defilement bordering on allegations of indecent treatment of a child, sexual assault, attempted sexual assault by penetration, and sexual assault by penetration.

But the case has seen new developments as claims of a Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) recording which is part of the evidence in the case being tampered with.

Baba Ijesha's defense witness who is also an expert in CCTV installation and maintenance, Engr. Adeleke Lawrence claimed an Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on Thursday, February 17.

Two video recordings of Baba Ijesha were played during resumed proceedings on Thursday, February 17, following the request of defense counsel, Babatunde Ogala (SAN).

The first video showed the defendant sitting on a sofa with the victim. Two men and a woman walked out in the recording, which had no audio.

Asked for his opinion on what he saw, the witness said: “The gentleman and the lady appeared to be acting the way they were asked to do.”
